Service Engineer based at St Cyrus Depot
A job opportunity has arisen and we can offer a fantastic opportunity for a service engineer to join our busy agricultural dealership. You will be joining a highly skilled team of engineers working on premium brands within a modern dealership with first class Fendt manufacture training.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
· Working within our workshops and out in a van
· Working on a wide range of Fendt machinery along with other brands.
· Fault finding and diagnostic
· Engine and transmission repairs
· Ensuring all paperwork is submitted accurately & in a timely manner
· Problem solving under pressure
· Ensuring we deliver a high quality service
SKILLS REQUIRED
· Strong engineering background
· Experienced in diagnostic requirements
· IT skills are a must
· Organised, detail-focused & self-motivated
· Able to have a customer—first approach
· Fast-working, positive, proactive & a strong team player
· Full Driving Licence
· Required to work overtime in busy periods

JOB DECRIPTION
Job Title: Service Technician
Reports to: Depot Service Manager
Job Overview:
The Service Technician is responsible for carrying out routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of customer machinery. This role involves working both on-site and within the depot, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard. Accurate completion of job-related documentation is essential to support timely invoicing and customer service delivery.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Daily
- Carry out scheduled services and mechanical repairs on agricultural machinery, either on-site or at the depot.
- Conduct fault-finding and diagnostics on a variety of equipment to identify and resolve issues efficiently. Raise cases on Tech Connect as needed.
- Accurately complete all required paperwork on the portal, including job cards upon completion of each job.
- Send daily hours via Whatsapp to Service Administrator.
- Ensure all job records are complete with relevant details including machine hours, labour, parts used, and photographs (as required). Ensuring unused parts to stores promptly.
- Warranty parts must be placed in the correct storage area, along with the relevant paperwork, promptly after each job.
- Follow all company health & safety procedures while working in the workshop or on customer premises.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Communicate clearly with customers, colleagues, and other departments to ensure effective job progression.
- Mentor apprentices and new employees and encourage them to support with the completion of jobs.
Weekly
- Review outstanding jobs to ensure all work is progressing and properly documented.
- Assist in checking and maintaining tools, equipment, and vehicles to ensure service readiness and compliance.
- Liaise with the Service Manager regarding job allocation and scheduling.
Monthly
- Attend toolbox talks or team briefings relating to safety, service updates, or procedural improvements.
- Submit reports or feedback regarding machinery performance trends or recurring technical issues to the Service Manager.
- Participate in service quality audits or process reviews where applicable.
Ad Hoc
- Attend manufacturer or supplier training courses to maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and certification.
- Support the Service Manager with investigative tasks related to warranty claims, complex diagnostics, or customer concerns.
- Assist other departments (e.g. Parts or Sales) with technical insight or pre-delivery inspections as required.
- Respond to emergency call-outs or breakdowns outside of regular hours, when part of the on-call rota (if applicable).
- Travel to customer sites across the region, sometimes at short notice, to minimise equipment downtime.
